Canadian Firm Research In Motion will unleash yet another smartphone, named Javelin, in the UK through Carphone Warehouse, its exclusive distributor, from the 20th of December.

The Blackberry Curve 8900, its other name, comes with the trademark pearl-like trackball, a fast 512MHz Processor, 56MB onboard memory (complemented by a microSD slot), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash.

Of particular interest is the a 2.4-inch LCD scren which according to RIM's PR will be its sharpest screen up to date.

T-Mobile, which has already released the phone in Germany, will be selling the phone on contracts while Carphone Warehouse will sell the device as handset only.

With Bold, Javelin and Storm, Blackberry now offers 9 types of smartphones on its website to cover all bases and an additional 9 other family models in other markets.

Vodafone also reported that Blackberry Storm has been an outright success with tens of thousands of people having registered their interests since the smartphone's release.
