Facebook INQ1 Smartphone Gets Launched on 3 with Unlimited Internet

Facebook INQ1 Smartphone Gets Launched on 3 with Unlimited Internet
  • Digg del.icio.us reddit Facebook

So, could THAT be the reason why the owner of UK Mobile Operator 3, Li Ka-shing invested more than $100 million pounds in Facebook at the beginning of the year? Anyway, today nimble Network operator three, launched its first Facebook phone, the INQ1.

The phone is manufactured by Amoi but designed by a company called Inqmobile, a Hutchinson Whampoa company.

Obviously, the main selling point of the smartphone is the fact that it will display Facebook alerts and status directly on the mobile and is probably the cheapest phone to have an iPhone-like accelerometer feature which changes the orientation of the phone when rotating the phone.

3 allows tethering, which means that you will be able to use the phone as a modem (ed: cue, unlimited internet) and will be compatible with CBS's Last.FM (although details are scant as to how integrated Last.fm will be).

Other technical highlights include a 3.2-megapixels camera, a bundled 1GB memory, a 2.2-inch QVGA screen and a more polished finish compared to say, the Skypephone version 1 and 2.

The stylish slider phone will be available from £15 per month with unlimited web browsing, unlimited texts and 75 minutes of anytime, any network calls (although you would still be able to make calls via Skype).

The self-proclaimed first social mobile phone will also be available on PAYG for £80 only.
