Meet Sony's 40-inch KDL-40ZX1 10mm Thick LCD Wireless Screen

Meet Sony's 40-inch KDL-40ZX1 10mm Thick LCD Wireless Screen

“If it is the thinnest, it ought to be Sony”, aligning with the same statement, Sony has unveiled the world’s slimmest LCD TV at IFA in Berlin.

The new 40 inch Bravia ZX1 from the house of Sony, is 9.9mm thick, and is capable of receiving videos wirelessly through source, using 5GHz link, and hence sported with one HDMI port only, for video support.

The backlighting of the device has built along the edges of its frame, tendering the unparallel slimness to the gadget; further, it also includes a separate box for all its connections, containing three HDMI ports, a USB port, and a LAN socket.

The box of tricks, or Media Receiver, contains an in-built MPEG4 AVC-HD2 tuner, and DVB-C3 and DVB-T digital tuners, that ensure smooth reception of signals, and it is managed through advanced RF technology, instead of traditional IR application.

The TV is expected to cruise into the UK market in December this year.
